Application

International student applicants must submit the following documents to complete their application:

  • A completed application for undergraduate admissions and the non-refundable $40 application fee.  The application fee must be paid in US dollars;
  • Freshmen:  Official high school transcripts and SAT or ACT test scores.  It is strongly recommended that the SAT and/or ACT be taken as early as possible. The January (SAT) test or February (ACT) test are generally the last acceptable examinations for fall applicants. Applicants who have not taken the tests may obtain information and materials from either the guidance office of their secondary school; the College Entrance Examination Board, P.O. The college code for Bowie State University is 5401.
  • Transfer:  Official transcripts from all colleges or universities where college credits were attempted, whether or not credit was earned. Official transcripts must be received unopened, and in the original sealed envelope from each institution attended.  Transfer credits from any college not listed on an application will be denied.  Failure to list a college on an application may also result in the denial or revocation of the student’s application.  Transfer students who do not have a minimum of 24 transferable credits must also submit official high school transcripts and SAT or ACT test scores.
  • Foreign Transcripts:  If the original transcript is in a language other than English, the applicant must submit a certified English translation of the transcript.  All international applicants must also submit an evaluation of their foreign transcripts showing the US equivalent of any coursework taken outside of the United States. For more information, click hereThe university accepts evaluations from the following organizations:
