Send an E-mail request to gradadmissions@bowiestate.edu to have an application mailed to you.   Access our on-line application at: http://www.acaff.usmh.usmd.edu/gradapp/index.html Visit us, and pick up an application at the University's Office of Admissions located in the Henry Administration building.    The application packets for the Master Programs and Certificates must be completed by the following deadline dates:             Fall Semester                           April 1st                 Spring Semester                      November 1st          Summer Session                      April 1st     Back to             Admission Requirements for the Master Degree Programs   All of the Graduate Programs at Bowie State University require applicants to complete the Graduate Admissions Application and forward it with a non-refundable $40.00 fee to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Send official transcripts from all colleges or universities that you have attended directly to Bowie State University, including the official undergraduate transcript from the institution that will confirm the completion of your bachelor’s degree. Some graduate programs may require that you submit additional documentation with your application. Please review the additional requirements below: (These requirements are subject to change without notice)     Counseling Psychology/Guidance and Counseling   Self statement Download Self-Statement form   Three recommendations using the Graduate Admissions recommendation form Download Recommendation Form   Elementary, Reading & Secondary Education Copy of a professional standard or advanced teaching certificate   Master of Arts in Teaching (TEAC) Pass Praxis I    Master of Business Administration (MBA)     GMAT score submitted directly from the Testing Service Center to Bowie State University   School Psychology  A typed two to three (2-3) page statement of interest describing applicant's backgrounds experience, and goals Three recommendations using the Graduate  Download Recommendation Form International Students (Student Visa)   Notarized affidavit of support and notarized bank statement  TOEFL/TWE scores (sent directly from ETS)  Course-by-course evaluation of all foreign course work (sent directly from World Education Services) The Supplemental Information for I-20 Request form.    School Administration and Supervision Copy of a professional standard or advanced teaching certificat Proof of three years of teaching experience   Special Education    Typed two–three page essay on your philosophy of teaching diverse learners Three professional letters of recommendation     Back to Graduate Admissions Home                                   Admission Requirements for the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership     Application to the doctoral program in Education Leadership requires evidence of the following:   ▪ A master's degree in school administration or a closely related field;   ▪ At least three years of recent successful administrative experience in an elementary or secondary school setting;   ▪ A satisfactory score on the Millers Analogy Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Scores must be less than five years old and sent directly from the testing service center to Bowie State University;   ▪ At least three professional recommendations from persons who can attest to the applicant's work experience; and,   ▪ An overall GPA of 3.5 (4.00 scale) on previous graduate studies.   In addition, applicants must:   ▪ Submit a completed doctoral program application form with a non-refundable application fee;   ▪ Submit one official transcript from each higher education institution attended. Only sealed transcripts received directly from the college or university are considered official;   ▪ Submit a letter of application addressing in detail the applicant's interest in the doctoral program, prior administrative experience, and aspirations as an educational administrator; and,   ▪ Submit a current vita of career experiences.   Application materials are available from the Department of Educational Leadership or from the Office of Graduate Admission.    Back to Graduate Admissions Home         Application for Readmission   If you ever enrolled at Bowie State University as a degree seeking student, and have been away from the university for one or more semesters, you will need to complete an Application for Readmission.
