The Student Leadership Institute is an intensive, interactive, and stimulating learning program. It is a seven-day program designed for newly-elected student leaders who are committed to uplifting their organizations and their universities. The primary goal of the INSTITUTE is to prepare participants to develop resourceful solutions to the problems they are likely to encounter as a student leader on their respective campuses.
The goal of The INSTITUTE for student leaders of HBCU’s are but not limited to;
- To understand the mission and need for HBCU’s;
- To understand the pivotal and important role of student leaders on these campuses;
- To develop an appreciation for planning and organizing in the development of students;
- To serve as the catalyst on their respective campus for empowerment and change;
- To have a solid understanding of leadership development and its principles and service in the Black community as it relates to the world and nation’s uplift and progress;
- To be able to look at themselves as a part of a team with administration and faculty instead of separate entities.
